Have You Got eBay PowerSeller Potential?

What exactly is a PowerSeller?

PowerSellers are the eBay members that have made it, you can recognize them by the PowerSeller badge next to their name. Youve probably seen these people across eBay as you go about your usual business to succeed on eBay, you need to think the way they do.

How do you get Awarded PowerSeller Status? eBay decides who can be a PowerSeller and who cant, and they have strict rules. To get in at the minimum PowerSeller level, you must have a feedback rating of at least 100 (minimum 98% positive) and sell at least $1,000 worth of items every month for three months in a row.

There are different levels of PowerSeller membership as you sell items of greater value:

$1,000 is bronze
$3,000 is silver
$10,000 is gold
$25,000 is platinum
$125,000 is titanium

If PowerSellers ever fail to meet the required amount of sales, or their feedback falls below 98% positive, then they lose their PowerSeller status. Essentially the only eBay users that get to be PowerSellers on eBay are the users that have been successful for a while and are on track to stay successful.

The Marketplace and the Shop.

This is the most important part of understanding how PowerSellers think. They dont see what theyre doing as being some random bazaar, or a hobby instead, they see themselves as a business.

For example, if you run a stall in a marketplace, the chances are that you have a general area of business, but you mostly just sell whatever you can get your hands on that week. If your dodgy buddy got his hands on a job lot of something at a discount, then thats what youll be selling. This might be fun and when you have a good week, youll have a really good week but its no way to run a real business in the long-term.

PowerSellers think far more like shops. They sell the same things again and again, every week regular stock for regular customers. They do boring business things like keep inventories and budgets. They know what theyre going to be selling, how much they buy it for and how much they expect to sell for. Just like a real shop, there can be hard times sometimes, but their income is stable and their business can grow slowly.

The best advice I can give you on thinking like a PowerSeller is this: dont take long-term risks for short-term gain. Look after your reputation, manage your selling properly, provide good customer service and the rewards will come to you in due course. And youll get a little badge next to your name that makes people trust you more!

One option that you may of missed is - What can eBay do for any other businesses you have. Millions of people visit eBay every day why keep everything separate when youre starting to tap into that kind of power?

In fact $14 out of every $100 spent online is spent at eBay!

If you have been following news lately, XBOX 360 Microsofts next generation console went on sale at midnight on 22nd November. Many people queued up to make sure they can get hold of the console and experience the hype that has been brewing as times goes by before the official launched. Many people too went home empty handed and disappointed as stores were allocated that small amount of consoles. It doesnt help that now the XBOX 360 is facing some shortage due to the overwhelming response. Try Amazon, Wal-Mart or Best Buy websites they are listed as sold out or at best limited stock.

In the first few days of sales at auction website EBay, the price even sky rocket to over US$1000 per unit. Key in XBOX 360 and search for it in EBay and you can see that the prices now average for about over US$700, still many times mark-up of the original retail price of US$399. Auction sellers in EBay have been smiling all the way to the bank as they have cashed in on the vacuum that the retail stores have failed to provide.

I have been wondering how those geniuses able to get hold of the consoles and resell it for quick profits. So I was searching and digging the internet for information and finally I was able to come out with a list of company that provides the consoles at wholesale price.

What so great about this, you might think! Well if you look at EBay again, those auction sellers are selling this information at hundred dollars! These are highly sought after information in EBay. Believe it or not, some of these companies are selling the consoles at US$275 in bulk and they are going fast. XBOX 360 is scheduled to be launch in Europe and Japan in early December. Imagine the frenzy is going to start all over again with Christmas seasons drawing near.

Be it you are a stay at home mums or doing home business part time, I believe you dont mind getting this extra information that can help you grow your own home business. Mind you they are not only dealing with one product, they do carry other brands like Apple iPod nano, Canon, Sony Playstation2 or Canon digital cameras all you need is to ask.

Anyway I have placed the information in www.monaky.com, it is free for you to download. I spent one whole week just to search and compile it into a list and you are free to pass it to anybody who might be interested.

Also thanks to those who have responded to me about the misspelled auction article previously, I have now incorporated the search program in http://www.monaky.com.

Have fun !!

Want To Be An eBay Millionaire? Have You Got What It Takes?

Taking the leap to full-time as an eBay seller is living the dream: earning a real income, working at home, being your own boss etc. Its the promise of a million scams, but its finally come true, at least for some.

What they dont always tell you in the success stories is that becoming a full-time eBay seller is not for everyone. You really should try it part-time before you consider taking it up full-time, and even then, caution is recommended. Before you go and burn your suit, heres a list of questions you should ask yourself.

How Much Am I Earning From eBay Now?

Calculate how many hours a week you spend working on eBay related things (be honest here), then divide this by the average profit you make in a week. If you were doing full-time hours, would you earn as much as you earn now?

Do I Have a Good Job?

Consider what you might lose if you quit your job to focus on becoming a full time eBay seller. If youre in a well paid job with good promotion prospects then its well worth reconsidering: you might get a few years down the line and wish youd stayed in your traditional job, as youd probably be the CEO by now.

Can I Really Make More Money on eBay?

Unless youre selling a large quantity of small goods, most of what you do on eBay will be waiting for auctions to end and you can wait at work just as easily as you can at home. Whether you would make more money on eBay really depends on what kinds of items youre selling for low value items, going full-time could be a good move. For high-value ones, the chances are youll hit the limits of how much money you have to invest in inventory long before you hit the limits on your time.

Can I Handle Working At Home?

Apart from anything else, you might find that your dream of working at home is more of a nightmare in reality. Your family can start to depend on you to get things done during the day. If you have a wife and children then they can resent the fact that youre in the house but refuse to have anything to do with them for large parts of the day. Giving in to them and stopping work for a while will cause your profits to slide.

Would I Survive if it All Went Wrong?

Could you get by if you had a month or two where you sold nothing? Or would you be desperately looking around for a job and cursing the day you ever discovered eBay? Thats the real test.

If you are not phased by these questions, then I guess you could be cut out for the eBay seller lifestyle and even if you were phased, youd be surprised just how far you can get part-time.

Make Your Ebook Auctions Stand Out

Selling ebooks on eBay is an inviting idea. By carefully shopping for in-demand content and wisely purchasing it with resale rights, you can secure a product you can sell over and over again with only a one-time expense. A very small initial investment can give you the opportunity to create a long series of successful auctions.

The hassles associated with shipping and handling also disappear, as delivering an ebook can be as simple as sending an email to the buyer. There are even great software packages and services available that make automated instant delivery of purchased ebooks possible. You can truly create a system that runs on autopilot, generating profits with little or no effort on your part.

Thats the good news. The bad news is that a lot of other people have also noticed the opportunities presented by selling ebooks on eBay. As such, there is bustling market on eBay for electronically delivered information products and it is easy for your auctions to get lost in the crowd. No matter how inexpensive setting up your ebook auction business might be, the effort and expense will be wasted if no one is purchasing your products.

As such, it is important to make sure your auctions stand out from your competitors. There are a few great general techniques that when coupled with your own skills and originality can set you apart from the crowd and make your ebook business a success.

Look Different

Have you ever searched through the ebook offerings on eBay? Often, you will see the very same ebooks sold again and again. The auction titles look the same, as do the graphics used to promote them. If you follow the herd, you are simply hoping that of the many similar auctions offered, an interested buyer will happen to pick yours from the crowd merely by luck. This is not a particularly sound strategy!

Instead, you should make the effort to differentiate your auction from the others. Secure and utilize a different graphic than the standard ebook cover shot being used by everyone else. You should also spend some time writing a title for the auctionif your title reads like all of the others; your chances for success are reduced considerably.

Read Differently

Look through the auctions carefully and read the product descriptions and sales pages of the other eBay sellers in your market. Youll probably notice that many of them seem like carbon copies of one another. You need to make your eBay auction unique.

Spend some time and effort developing a sales pitch for your product that stands out from the rest. It will require some creativity and effort, but by writing the perfect sales pitch and creating a truly unique auction, your product will be perceived as a unique offering in a sea of sameness.

Offer Something More

If everyone is selling the same ebook, or several similar ebooks on the same theme, you need to make your auction different. There has to be some unique reason why buyers will flock to your auctions instead of others.

One used to be able to create a distinction by simply offering a better price or having higher feedback ratings. As the ebook marketplace has grown, these characteristics are tougher to use to your advantage. Prices are often set at low margins across the board already, and there are a variety of sellers with impressive feedback in the field.

Bundle something extra into your ebook auction. Perhaps a special report you have personally written, insuring the uniqueness of your auction is in order. Maybe you can bundle up an additional ebook for which you have resale rights into the deal. The possibilities are limited only by your own imagination.

In a more crowded marketplace it is possible to succeed. However, the days of merely listing a series of ebooks and waiting for the money are over. If you want to increase your chances for ebook success on eBay, its time to do something that separates you from the pack.

Knowing How to Purchase Office Furniture on eBay is Half the Battle

March 8th, 2009 at 04:50pm Under Auctions

Trying to decipher through some online shopping sites can be confusing to the non-internet shopper, but with only a few tips and things to look for, it can be simple to purchase your office supplies, furniture and chairs online through eBay for your home or business. Knowing which things to watch for and how to search for the correct item and buy from the right seller is only half the battle, the rest is picking that perfect chair for you.

There are really two different ways to buy your office chair through eBay. Auction style listings with a 1-10 day fixed time limit going to the highest bidder are how eBay started out drawing their members. Now, after upgrades and advancement, they have many different ways to purchase. Buying office chairs and furniture through fixed price listings and through eBay Store listings seems to be the quickest and offers the best possible pricing.

In order to see the items that are listed under the auction style price category, simply enter the keyword term into the search box and see what listings appear. The listings directly below the box are the auction style ads with a fixed time frame of start and end that appears with each listing and current bidding price as well as photo, if available and a shipping cost.

With eBay Stores, you get the same display but with auctions at a set price and easy to compare statistics, you can arrange these lists by price, ending time or newly listed to help you in your search. This can be helpful if you know your price range to search for chairs in your budget. eBay Stores can make it easy to price shop since the items are usually available with a Set Price and Buy it Now option for immediate purchase, you don’t have to wait until the end of auction to purchase, saving you time.

Including photos and up to 25 listings per page, it is better to narrow down your search to a more specific type of chair in order to find the right one quicker. In example, you could use the key terms like mesh, leather, executive, button tufted, big and tall or ergonomic. This small step in adding keywords can help save you time and better find what you are looking for.

With easy to search listings, custom order products and purchase now, pay now options, the eBay Store sites can even have the look and feel of any online shopping site outside of eBay. The more advanced the eBay seller and things such as eBay store design, Powerseller status, FAQ categories, store policies pages and positive feedback comments, the more desired the item should be to purchase with the guarantee of satisfaction.

Most sellers of a high end item such as office chairs should feature a return policy and money back guarantee in order for your security that you are receiving a quality product from a reputable seller. Once you have learned the art of negotiating through the eBay website and looking through the eBay stores, you are halway done and the rest of the battle is simply finding the right chair for you.

Auctions or eBay Stores The Best Way to Find that Online Deal for an Office Chair

March 8th, 2009 at 04:50pm Under Auctions

Digg me

There are many different ways to search for your office chair and purchase through eBay. You can use the eBay search keyword box and enter office chair or for more specific styles, you can input a variety of additional words. Mesh chairs, executive traditional, leather and ergonomic are all popular search terms. Simply press the search button and eBay will automatically show you a variety of choices and models to choose from with the option of buying from an auction listing or from a fixed price listing in an eBay Store.

Today, December 8,2005 when inputting the term office chair on eBay’s Homepage, I was able to pull up 735 different listings and 1365 listings in eBay Stores with 216 different online eBay stores carrying office chairs. Some of these eBay Stores had hundreds of models to choose from in chairs alone, not to mention the furniture and supplies also offered on most sites.

Even when searching for a chair on eBay, it is apparent that with the upgrades made to this top auction shopping site, there are even several different ways to shop. You can try the auction style listings and bid on an item and hope that in the end you are the winning bidder and have placed the highest bid closest to the end of auction. This can be more time consuming, can lead to prices going higher than normal due to aggressive bidding wars and delays the shipping of the chair to you.

You do need to remember that sometimes, if you have the time, while no one is paying attention, you might find that great auction deal and not be outbid, winning your chair at a small fraction of the regular price. So it is said that auction style listings and the thrill that can come from bidding on an item has it’s charms too.

Another method of search on eBay is to use the eBay Store Pages. With easy to search listings, custom ordered items, and purchase now, pay now options, these sites have the look and feel of any online shopping site. Each eBay store has their own store home page and site with store policies. You can find these stores on the left hand navigation bar on the eBay Home Page or at the bottom of the regular lisitngs in a display box.

These stores, while also having more listings and products than the standard auction ads on eBay for office chairs, also have the highest in feedback ratings and customer service satisfaction guarantees. You can compare prices, purchase directly through the Buy It Now option, pay directly through Paypal immediately and have the item shipped to you quickly. Most stores feature a chair guarantee and should have a return policy clearly stated on their listing.

Ebay stores tend to be run by eBay Powersellers, which puts them a step above the rest when it comes to proven customer satisfaction and high sales volume with the best shipping prices available. Many different pricing discounts can be found on eBay and with quoting from eBay sellers for quantity discounts, you should be able to find the best price possible for what you are looking for. No matter which search method you use, auction or stores, to find that perfect chair on eBay only takes a little time and effort.

Ebay and Office Chairs Ordering on Ebay Can Save You a Ton of Money

Can you believe that you can buy a brand new Herman Miller Aeron Mesh Office Chair on eBay for under $700? An industry friend recently posed this question to me when a customer had scoffed at his retail price and told him about the online deal. With different brands, both new and used items, and a variety of ergonomic seating styles offered, ordering your chair through eBay can make comparison pricing and purchasing an office chair a breeze.

eBay has seen considerable growth recently in the business and industrial category where office furniture and supplies are listed for sale. With the Herman Miller Aeron Chair being the most widely searched for item in the chair category and executive, leather, mesh and ergonomic key terms leading close behind, a variety of different styles of chairs are being searched for by consumers. Both home offices and businesses have been turning to eBay to fulfill their office furniture and supply needs in order to save themselves time and money.

Recently a family friend remarked that they needed a bulk order of office chairs, 20+ and had looked online and couldn’t believe the deals they had found. He had gotten ready to order from an online office supply site becuase he had found the product he needed for 15% below the retail store price. His wife mentioned that she bought all of her electronics and appliances on eBay and he should check them out for pricing too.

Even with the low price on the other site, he decided to give his wife’s idea a try and looked up office chair on the eBay home page. He told me he pulled up over 500 listings and eventually came upon eBay stores where he was able to get a quantity discount price quote from one of the eBay sellers and purchase the exact same model of chair for 30% below retail or 15% less than the average online shopping site. With the ease of eBay stores and the option of paying now directly through Paypal, he was able to expedite his order and received the chairs within 12 days direct to his office.

He also remarked that it was not only the savings but the ease of purchasing and shopping on eBay that made it so simple to compare pricing and shop for different styles of chair. He plans to come back to eBay for his future office needs, from desk supplies to furniture to help his company save some more money.

When searching for an office chair or furniture on eBay, it is apparent that with all of the upgrades to the site and the security measures, it is easy to purchase almost anything on eBay.

No matter how you decide to purchase through the stores or auctions, it is a guarantee that you will find a terrific deal with the average office chair selling for 30-60% off of retail price. eBay is an ever growing marketplace, bringing in tens of thousands of new memebers daily. Ordering an office chair and getting a great deal can be a breeze the eBay way.

eBay Feedback and Customer Confidence

March 8th, 2009 at 04:50pm Under Auctions

When my voice mail system recently gave up the ghost, I discovered that the equipment I had been using has not been manufactured in years, and no one makes anything quite like it.

After learning more than I really wanted to know about phone and voice mail systems, I narrowed my decision to two systems. One seemed to be a better choice, and was even less expensive than the other. However, when it came time to place the order I got nervous. The manufacturer seemed less ‘corporate’ and not as well established as the maker of the other system. I started wondering if paying the higher price was the safer thing to do, rather than dealing with a lesser-known company. Would my credit card information be secure? Would the company provide a quality product, and would they stand behind it?

The factor that won me over was eBay. Although I was not shopping for their products on eBay, it turns out that this company sells a lot on eBay, and their feedback score is 100%. Of course, the raw number isn’t enough to go on. They have enough ratings that the feedback score appears to be genuine, the feedback comes from many users with established feedback scores, and the feedback is primarily for selling the type of product I was planning to buy.

eBay had a great idea when they came up with feedback scores. While a good feedback score is not a guarantee that you will be happy with your transaction, it is a good indicator. In this case, even though I wasn’t planning to buy on eBay, the fact that this merchant had good feedback there gave me the confidence I needed to do business with them.

Positive feedback from eBay customers is just one way you can build credibility and create trust in the online community. The more confidence your customers have in you, the easier it will be to get their business.

Is Your Credit Card Safe with Ebay?

I had a web site that allowed me to match up with a wholesale merchandising company, directly linking their products to Ebay.
I had never used Ebay for anything before, but I had heard so much about them that I decided to give this venture a try.I looked at all the merchandise available to me and found an electronic device that seemed to have potential to make money.
I listed on Ebay through my website and waited with anticipation to see how this venture would turn out. I didn’t have long to wait,I actually received an email the next day from a potential buyer. Boy! was I excited! The email asked if I could ship the product to Africa. I knew that the wholesaler only shipped into the U.S so I returned the email with this information..
I was surprised to receive a reply from the buyer suggesting that the item could be dropped at a U.S address of a family member. I then asked for the money to be paid into my PayPal account, and I would then alert the shipping company to go ahead.I had read that one must get the money in a secure account, before risking any shipments.I received a PayPal receipt ,outlining, as they usually do ,all the necessary information regarding credit card information and the name of the buyer etc etc.
I then sent my payment to the shipper to send the item on it’s way. I decided to make sure that the right amount had been transferred to my paypal account as my currency is not U.S dollar, when I saw that my account did not show ANY payment, I panicked!!

I called PayPal on the telephone, and after being transferred to everyone that worked there, I think, I was asked to send them a copy of the email receipt I had received from them.I did this willingly and waited for their apology. It never came. They informed me, that the email receipt was a fraud. With my heart in my mouth I asked them to explain how I would know that, then they told me that because it did not have https://at the beginning of the email ,it was a scam.
I was so angry, I asked them how would the ordinary person ever know this, why did they not have this message on their site, for everyone to see so that no one would get scammed. They dismissed this suggestion out of hand and apologized to me, but the outcome was, too bad for me!!!
I called the shipping company, they had already shipped it out but after listening to my tale of woe, they thought they might catch the item at the holding depot. They would let me know. Meanwhile,I went back to Ebay to see what was happening with this item I had had on auction. It had been taken off as sold and therefore I thought ,well that’s the end of that.
Two days later, I received a call from my credit card company, asking me to verify some purchases that I had made ,that they were questioning. I knew that I had not made these purchases and they promised to look into it. I knew that the only place that I had`given out my credit information to recently, was Ebay. Now my blood was boiling !!! By now everyone knows how eBay works. You list an item youre trying to sell, and buyers place bids on it. After a predetermined length of time (commonly seven days), the highest bidder wins and gets to pay that much money for the item. Thats great for sellers, but what about buyers? Wouldnt it be better if sellers competed for a buyers , instead of the other way around? Thats where reverse online come in.

Reverse online work in the opposite way from eBay- style . A buyer lists the item hes looking for, and sellers compete for his by offering their lowest possible prices. In effect, the buyer is playing hard-to-get. Rather than running to eBay and flinging himself at the seller — Please sell it to me! Look how much Ill pay for it! — the buyer plays it cool, letting the sellers come to him.

As a result, buyers in reverse online usually pay less than people participating in regular . A DVD thats only worth $12 might have its price driven up to $20 or more on eBay, due to buyers competing with each other for the right to buy it. With a reverse Internet auction, that price will stay low, because buyers arent getting in each others way, artificially driving up the price. Instead, the sellers are driving DOWN the price because they want your .

There are two ways of running an auction online: open and closed. In an open auction, all the bidders know where they stand in the bidding, i.e., whether theyve been outbid. In a closed auction, each bidder only knows his own bid. Therefore, he must put forth his very best offer at once, since he wont be able to make a better one in response to someone elses bid.

Sellers know that e-procurement — where items are bought, paid for and sold over the Internet — is more lucrative than traditional brick-and-mortar stores simply because there are fewer overhead costs. So its in their best interest to attract new online customers, and they know one way to do that is to participate in reverse on the Internet.
